dabigatran: urgent surgery

Stop dabigatran

Check FBC, U/E, calcium, coagulation screen, TCT. Indicate last time of dabigatran on request.

Consider delay in surgery until enough time has passed or TCT and coags normal.

If delay not possible, consider specialist reversal agents: consult with SMO heamatologist.
